Bhrigu is a prominent lake of the Kullu region. Legend holds that Bhrigh Rishi meditated here. Also famous as the “Pool of Gods” it is said that many local gods of the Kullu Valley visit the lake to take a dip in its sacred water.
- Day 01 Manali to Pandu Ropa 5-6 hrs : Trek from Vashisht village near Manali to Pandu Ropa, enjoying panoramic views of Manali and the Kullu valley along the trek. Also get views of the snow capped Dhauladhar range while you walk through forests of deodar and cedar trees.
- Day 02 Pandu Ropa to Bhrigu lake (4235 m / 13900 ft) – Raudi Kholi 6-7 hrs : Trek from Pandu Ropa to Bhrigu lake through alpine meadows with lazy cattle grazing on them. Bhrigu is a prominent lake of the Kullu region. Legend holds that Bhrigh Rishi meditated here. Also famous as the “Pool of Gods” it is said that many local gods of the Kullu Valley visit the lake to take a dip in its sacred water. Camp at Raudi Kholi, in a grassy clearing with sheep grazing nearby.
- Day 03 Raudi Kholi to Gulaba to Manali 6 hrs : A 4 hr trek from Raudi Kholi takes you to Gulaba which is surrounded by natural forest of fir, spruce, moru and the higher altitude Kharsu oak trees. Another 2 hours drive from Gulaba takes you back to Manali.
